There was no head or foot massage to start the massage off, no wrap, no long massage strokes with oil. My husband and I visited the spa yesterday. He stated to spend the majority of time on shoulders and back to which she replied 'well, it's 90 minutes we'll have time.
My husbands masseuse asked what areas he would like to focus on.
He did not take my ponytail out so most of the scalp massage was done by applying pressure on my bun which was ineffective. A stomach massage did not take place (apparently that was part of the massage). There was one point where a warm towel was placed on top of my chest and the sheet pulled down which was unsettling to me because he didn't verbalize what he was doing so I felt very vulnerable. I did ask him to stop doing that stretch and he did observe my request. At one point, he pulled my shoulder blade so hard that I was in tears and proceeded to have shoulder pain since. I have received this type of massage before and this was definitely not it. My massage was a choppy stroke, scattered body part massage more like deep tissue with ADD. Before my massage, I did confirm which massage I signed up for and it was verbalized at the front desk and with the therapists.
